History
Osmaniye Korkut Ata University's School of Physical Education and Sports is still in its infancy. The School of Physical Education and Sports was established at our university by the Council of Ministers' decision dated September 11, 2017, and numbered 2017/10830, published in the Official Gazette dated December 6, 2017, and numbered 30262.
Education at our school began in the 2019-2020 academic year with the enrollment of 40 students in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching (special talent exam). Our school offers three departments: Physical Education and Sports Teaching, Sports Management, and Coach Education. Education is conducted by three assistant professors, four lecturers, and one research assistant.

Qualification Awarded

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Physical Education and Sports Teaching

Admission Requirements
Those who want to enroll in OKU undergraduate degree programs must get the sufficient score required by OKU from the exam administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM) and should not have an existing enrollment in another higher education program. Students' acceptance, registration, exam and evaluation procedures are conducted based on the Higher Education Law and the regulations and decisions put forth by The Higher Education Council based on this law.
There is a two level examination system after the high school to enter higher education. These exams are conducted by the Measurement, Evaluation, and Placement Center (OSYM in Turkish). More information about the exams can be obtained from the http:www.osym.gov.tr/ web site. The first level examination is called the “Higher Education Entrance Examination” (YGS in Turkish), which is a common and single session exam.All students who finished high school successfully and wish to continue higher education must take the YGS, which is designed to measure students' competency to continue higher education.Second level of the examination system is “Special Skills Exam”.

Graduation Requirements
|
To complete all the courses in the program (240 ECTS) and achieve a minimum GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00 are the required rules to qualify for graduation.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Graduates of the Physical Education and Sport Teacher Program receive the “Physical Education and Sport Teacher” title and they can work at state or private schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. Our graduates also find jobs at public and private centers and universities for an academic career.

Assessment and Grading
|
There are 1 midterm and 1 final exam. However, assignments, projects, laboratory applications can also be used to determine the overall grade average.
