About Programme

In line with the aims and objectives of the music department; In the first grade, basic field courses such as Music History, Basic Music Theory, Piano, Individual Instrument, and Aesthetics were added to the curriculum. In the second and third years, more advanced theoretical courses such as Harmony and Form Knowledge are given, along with Choir and Chamber Music courses, which aim to develop the ability to make music with individuals and groups. In the fourth year, students are given the opportunity to experience field work within the scope of the Community Service Practices course and to create new works for the field with the Educational Music Composition course. In addition, students at all grade levels are encouraged to do artistic activities.

History
The Music Department, which was established under the roof of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts, started its education activities in the 2020-2021 academic year.
Qualification Awarded
Students who graduate from this program receive a "Bachelor' degree" in the field of "Music".
Admission Requirements
In order to be accepted into the program, it is a priority to have graduated from high school and received 150 raw points from TYT. Candidates must also meet the conditions specified in the Exam Directive of Osmaniye Korkut Ata University Faculty of Architecture Design and Fine Arts.
Higher Grade Transition
Students who graduate from this program can apply for study in graduate programs.
Graduation Requirements
Those who have completed all the mandatory courses in undergraduate programs stipulated by the relevant article of the Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation of Osmaniye Korkut Ata University are eligible to graduate. In addition, students who go abroad with the Erasmus Program and come to the department from abroad must complete the 30 ECTS credits required by the period in which they continue.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students who will graduate from the program will receive the title of Musician. Ministry of Culture Choirs, TRT Choirs, Municipal and Private Institution Music Groups, as well as individually can perform their professions.
Assessment and Grading
In this program; different evaluation methods such as midterm exam, homework, practice, project, application and final exam are applied. Evaluation methods include classic exam, multiple choice exam, homework, performance evaluation and product evaluation. In order to graduate from the program, the weighted gpa must be at least 2.00. The grade of a course is determined by the evaluation of the above elements.
