Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to enable students to consciously embrace Atatürk's reforms by examining the historical roots of the Turkish Revolution, to become aware of the strength they derive from Turkish history and the National Struggle, to protect their state and nation, to be vigilant by recognizing internal and external threats to the Republic, secularism, and the Turkish Nation, and to develop a consciousness that enables them to understand their country, homeland, and nation and to produce policies appropriate to them.
Course Content Before Republic: Atatürk’s principles and the value of effectivenessof history and the concept of revolution. Progresses before Turkish Revolution: The progress in Europe. Otoman Empire and innovation activities. Political reforms. Words that beat the government. Armistices. Occupations. Attitudes. The great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and organization of Turkish peopleunder the guidanceof Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Atatürk’s struggles. Congresses. National treaty. The Turkish National Assembly. National organizations. The Nationalist Forces. Sevr binding. People’s refusing to Sevr. The period as regular, tidy military forces. Wars and conferences. Sakarya, İnönü… battle. Turkish foreign policy. Treaty periods.
