Objectives of the Course The aim is to introduce the conceptual foundations of contemporary art, its interdisciplinary approaches, and the diversity within the contemporary art scene, thereby equipping students with critical thinking skills regarding the evolving meanings, production methods, and presentation spaces of art today. In line with these achievements, the goal is for students to develop their own artistic approaches by analyzing contemporary art practices in aesthetic, social, and political terms.
Course Content The historical and conceptual definition of contemporary art, new movements that nourish art, contemporary art practices, contemporary art movements and their important representatives in Turkey after 1980, the contemporary art scene in the world, biennials, contemporary art biennials and artists in Turkey.
