Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to enable students to use
English as a basic means of communication in
accordance with the Common European
Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
By the end of the course, students are expected to
reach CEFR A1–A2 level outcomes.
Course Content The course is based on Smart Choice 1 (Oxford
University Press) and covers CEFR A1–A2 level

arrangements ("I’m meeting…"), be

• Comparatives & Superlatives
• Countable / Uncountable nouns,

• Past Simple (regular & irregular verbs)

Course Learning Outcomes: Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1 Students will be able to talk about clothes and shopping, and use appropriate expressions to ask about sizes and prices.
2 Students will be able to describe free-time activities and entertainment plans using future expressions (be going to, present continuous).
3 Students will be able to talk about animals and the natural world, and make comparisons using comparative and superlative forms.
4 Students will be able to talk about food and drinks and order appropriately in a café or restaurant.
5 Students will be able to describe past vacations and travel experiences using the past simple tense, and express future travel plans using be going to.
